Terms of Use

Forth · Effective September 6, 2026 · Last updated September 6, 2026

At a glance. Forth provides self-guided tools for managing urges. Paid access is offered as an annual subscription. The price and renewal terms are shown before purchase. Forth is a wellness tool rather than medical care, and individual experiences vary. The optional blocker adds friction and can be turned off.

These Terms of Use ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Nikita Borisov ("Forth", "we", "us", or "our") governing your use of the Forth iOS app, The Room, Forth's support and legal pages, and communications with Forth support (together, the "Services"). By accessing or using the Services after these Terms are presented or linked to you, you agree to these Terms and acknowledge the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use Forth.

Forth is distributed through Apple's App Store. Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the "Apple Standard EULA") governs your license and also applies to content, materials, and services accessible from or purchased within the app. These Terms supplement it with Forth-specific rules. If these Terms conflict with the Apple Standard EULA, the Apple Standard EULA controls to the extent of the conflict.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old. If you have not reached the age of legal majority where you live, you may use Forth only with permission from a parent or legal guardian. Forth is for personal, non-commercial use.

2. What Forth provides

Forth provides self-guided tools for managing urges, including short visual activities, a locally generated plan, progress features, The Room, and an optional device blocker.

3. Wellness and medical disclaimer

Forth is a wellness and self-help tool. It is not medical care, psychotherapy, counseling, diagnosis, treatment, a medical device, or an emergency service. The app does not create a doctor-patient or therapist-client relationship, and its content is not medical advice.

Individual experiences vary. We do not guarantee abstinence, a change in behavior, or any other health or personal outcome. If you need clinical help, contact a qualified professional. If you are in immediate danger or crisis, contact local emergency or crisis services.

4. Subscription and billing

For App Store purchases, paid features are offered through an auto-renewing one-year subscription purchased with your Apple Account. The standard price is US $39.99 per year, with localized prices in other storefronts. There is no free trial or paid introductory period. The displayed annual price is charged when you confirm. Any available annual discount and the renewal terms are shown before purchase. Previously accepted introductory offers retain the terms shown when purchased. Renewals are charged at the then-current annual price, subject to any notice and consent required by Apple or applicable law.

Unless cancelled, the subscription renews for additional one-year periods. Apple may process the renewal charge during the 24 hours before the current period ends. To avoid renewal, cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date.

You can manage or cancel the subscription in your Apple Account settings. Cancellation ordinarily takes effect at the end of the current paid period. Deleting Forth does not cancel a subscription. You can use "Restore purchase" in the app to restore an eligible purchase.

Apple processes payment and administers App Store billing, cancellation, price-change consent, and refund requests under Apple's terms and applicable law. We do not receive your payment-card details and cannot issue App Store refunds directly. You can request a refund through Apple's Report a Problem service.

Where web checkout is offered, RevenueCat manages the subscription and Stripe processes payment. The introductory offer is US $1 charged immediately for the first seven days, then US $39.99 charged for one year. It is not a free trial. The subscription automatically renews at US $39.99 each year until cancelled. Any applicable tax is shown before you confirm. By confirming checkout, you authorize the introductory charge and recurring annual charges under the terms displayed there. Any future price change is subject to notice and consent required by applicable law.

To avoid the first annual charge on a web subscription, cancel before the seven-day introductory period ends. To avoid a later renewal, cancel before its renewal date. Use "Manage subscription" in Forth's settings or the management link in your purchase email. Cancellation stops future renewals; access continues through the period already paid for. Deleting the app does not cancel the subscription. Use the access link in your purchase email to restore a web purchase after reinstalling Forth.

For web billing questions or refund requests, contact Forth support using the contact details below. Apple does not administer web subscription refunds. Cancellation alone does not refund a payment already made. This does not limit any refund or cancellation rights provided by applicable law.

5. License and acceptable use

Your license to download and use the Forth app is governed by the Apple Standard EULA. Subject to that agreement and these Terms, you may use Forth for personal, non-commercial purposes. Paid features require an active entitlement. All rights not expressly granted remain with us or our licensors.

You may not misuse Forth. This includes attempting to bypass payment or moderation controls, gaining unauthorized access to the service, disrupting the app or The Room, using automated tools to scrape the service, or using Forth in violation of law. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, sublicense, reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive the source code of the app except as permitted by the Apple Standard EULA, Apple's Usage Rules, applicable open-source license terms, or applicable law.

6. The blocker

Forth's optional blocker uses Apple's Screen Time system to add friction before access to selected apps, categories, and websites. You remain able to disable the blocker, and its operation also depends on Apple software, device settings, and system permissions.

No content-blocking tool can prevent every route to every destination or operate without interruption. We do not guarantee that the blocker will stop access to a particular app, category, website, or type of content.

7. The Room and user content

The Room lets eligible users share short posts and replies under generated handles. You keep ownership of content you submit, including posts and replies. By submitting content, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license, with the right to permit our service providers to exercise it on our behalf, to host, copy, process, moderate, transmit, display, and remove that content solely as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, and protect The Room. This license ends when the content is deleted from active systems, except to the extent limited copies remain temporarily with service providers as disclosed in the Privacy Policy or are retained for legal, security, fraud-prevention, or backup purposes.

You represent that you have the right to submit your content and that it does not violate another person's rights. Do not post:

Posts are reviewed before publication. We may hold, reject, remove, or review content and may pause posting privileges when reasonably necessary to enforce these Terms or protect users and the service. A restriction on Room posting privileges does not itself cancel a subscription or create a refund right, except where required by applicable law or Apple's policies.

Community posts come from other users. We do not endorse or guarantee their accuracy, and they are not medical or professional advice. You can report a post and block a handle from inside Forth.

8. Forth content and intellectual property

Forth's software, design, text, branding, and original artwork belong to us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual-property laws. The app may also display third-party or public-domain material under the rights identified in Forth.

Museum artworks used in the Grow activity are public-domain or openly licensed works and are credited to their source institutions in the app. Those works remain subject to any rights and attribution information identified there.

Your locally generated plan, ratings, reflections, and progress remain yours. We do not claim ownership of them. How Forth handles this information is explained in the Privacy Policy.

9. Availability, suspension, and termination

We may update or change free features over time. During an active paid subscription period, we will provide the paid subscription as marketed, subject to reasonable maintenance, security needs, legal requirements, and circumstances outside our reasonable control. We may restrict The Room or other online features when reasonably necessary to enforce these Terms, protect users, maintain security, or comply with law. Any refund rights resulting from a material discontinuation are governed by applicable law and, for App Store purchases, Apple's procedures. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

You may stop using Forth at any time. Stopping use or deleting the app does not cancel an active subscription. Cancel through Apple for App Store purchases, or through the subscription management link for web purchases.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

For Services not governed by the Apple Standard EULA, and except for the express commitments made in these Terms, Forth is provided "as is" and "as available" to the fullest extent permitted by law, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Services will meet your requirements or produce any particular result.

These disclaimers do not affect warranties or consumer rights that applicable law does not allow us to exclude.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of Forth. For any claim under these Terms that is not governed by the Apple Standard EULA, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for Forth during the twelve months before the claim.

The exclusions and liability cap in this section do not apply to fraud, willful misconduct, gross negligence, or to any liability or remedy that applicable law does not allow us to exclude or limit, including non-waivable consumer-protection rights and legally non-excludable liability for death or personal injury.

12. Apple and third-party services

These Terms are between you and us, not Apple. We are responsible for the Forth-specific Services, content, and support described here. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for Forth; contact us for Forth support.

Forth relies on third-party services described in the Privacy Policy. Your use of Apple services remains subject to applicable Apple terms. Other third-party terms apply only when they are presented to and accepted by you. Nothing in these Terms changes the rights or obligations provided by the Apple Standard EULA.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms prospectively as Forth changes. We will post the revised Terms and effective date. If a change materially affects your rights or obligations, we will provide reasonable advance notice and request renewed assent where required by law. Changes do not apply retroactively. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance only to the extent permitted by law.

14. Governing law and general terms

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Mandatory consumer protections in your place of residence continue to apply where they cannot lawfully be excluded.

If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining parts stay in effect. A delay in enforcing a provision is not a waiver. These Terms and any additional Forth-specific terms you expressly accept form the entire agreement regarding the matters addressed here, subject to the Apple Standard EULA and Apple purchase terms, each within its scope. The Privacy Policy is a separate notice describing our data practices.
